It’s Better to Build Boys than to Mend Men by S. Truett Cathy
Meets every other Saturday 10 a.m.–12 noon
Facilitated by the Executive Director of YBC Vince Gaddis and the YBC Youth Development
Director Reverend Donald Flinn. Come out and join us as we share experiences
from our formative years with boys ages 10–18. The boys are hungry for practical
wisdom, spiritual truth and affirming male relationships. We need individuals
that can help us expose these boys to outdoor adventures, retreats and other
constructive activities. We also welcome your help and ideas as we develop an
official Rites of Training Manual for these boys.
First Friday of each month from 6:30-8:00 youth ages 12-18 meet with our staff for a time of fellowship, sports and educational competition. Another great opportunity to build a relationship with a teen in need of guidance. We meet in the gymnasium at NorthPark Presbyterian Church.

Currently we are teaching the Heart of A Champion Character Development Program at Franklin Jr. High School every Wednesday from 3:50-5:50. Volunteers are needed so that we may reach more youth.
Led by a professor from Richland College YBC addresses a critical need for urban youth. From academic preparation to help with finding financial assistance and planning their career path the motivation the students receive can be the difference in a child going to a community college, a university or a trade school. We are putting together a team of advisors to serve as a resource for these students. We need you to join the team and offer up your skills, advice and services. Times vary according to student’s individual needs.
Whether in fulfillment of a religious duty or an act of charity we offer a variety of opportunities for individuals to perform community service. Through a partnership with the Volunteer Center of Dallas County we also offer a place for individuals with minor offenses to pay restitution to the community.
Individuals are needed to read with children from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Every summer we host a career day for youth ages 14-18. Sessions are 30-45 minutes. Questions from the youth are asked afterwards.
